This guardian came to me through a series of events.
Long story short, in 2023 I experienced a wild and mind blowing event that created quite a bit of trauma to myself. I was scared to be in a different state of consciousness, even meditating was too much for me.
Until I channeled this piece of art and I believe it was a part of my healing journey.
I won’t go into the trauma I experienced or what it was as such but I’ll share what this Mugwort Guardian Dreamer means to me.
WHAT DOES THIS PAINTING REPRESENT?
This Guardian man represents the Divine Masculine, externally and internally.
We all have a masculine and feminine within us, both as man and woman.
In my life as a woman, I have been so blessed to have experienced the external view of those “Masculine” figures that have been a pillar when I couldn’t hold myself or in other words, my inner masculine was not even there to hold myself.
Therefore this man is a Guardian, with his intuition turned way up, tuning into the subtle realms and seeing it all. Allowing him to protect the divine feminine essence, the pillar of light through the murkiness of the subtle worlds.
He is here to help support when we can’t hold ourselves. To feel the love and stability of the Masculine. To shine light on the inner strength but also to shine light and recognise the strong masculine figures within our lives who have held us and allowed us to melt into the safety of their arms. He is here to hold you through those tough times and to be a pillar of love and support.
Goanna is the Creator Spirit in Indigenous dreamtime and they say when the goanna goes running up the trees it’s a sign of the rains coming to bring life back to the lands.
At the time of painting this, there was loads of Goanna around the property in Gubbi Gubbi (Eumundi, Sunshine Coast QLD) and I felt that this goanna was brining change. As time unravelled, I took this as a sign of healing of my internal landscape and a cleansing and washing away of that which I experienced.
Goanna is here to bring the change. The long desired rain to bring life into the deserted landscape. To cleanse and wash away those fears, to visually show you the signs of change.
Mugwort has many uses in smudging, rituals and is said to encourage lucid dreams or astral projections. It was also used as a means of protection and intuition. Having this mugwort in here brought through that protection but also the elements of the other realms. Allowing me to lean into this and feel the protection of this Guardian and the Goanna who is brining forward that change and shifting into the higher states of consciousness rather than grappling in the fear of what was in the past.
Painting mugwort and sit with her at the alter while processing all this through my painting allowed me to gently lean into the medicine that she brings. She is very feminine and has a lot of properties that help with our wombs and cycles, connecting us deeply with ourselves. Mugwort has also lots of calming and de-stressing properties in amongst her being very connected in with the subtle realms.
I hope that who ever feels drawn to this piece will feel the medicine of healing that has been shifted and alchemised through the paint and onto canvas.
I’m not saying that this piece will heal you, but I hope that it can aid in your journey if you have ever been scared in the subtle realms like I have.
I hope to bring through the power of protection of this man and the Divine Masculine within you and these elements to remind you of the protection surrounding you always.
With love and blessings,
Tae x
PERSONAL EXPRESSION
Everything I have shared in the above is from my own personal experience and research of the different elements online and also a take on how I view them. I don’t wish to offend or criticise anyone with what I have mentioned and all of what I create is here to help in the highest good of what I can.
If you wish to do your own research on different elements, please feel free. And if this piece means something completely different to you and it has a specific meaning thats coming through your intuition, amazing! I am in such support of that, as art can be very interpretive.
Thats the beauty of images, it can have a thousand different meanings to what it could be and there is so much weight and power behind that.
I believe art is here to help heal and share our experiences and expressions for others to relate to (among many other reasons). For me, this is all an alchemical process of my experience and emotions being expressed through art, in the hopes that it will help someone else to not feel alone.
With love and gratitude x
